CLINICAL SERVICES
Dr. O'Hara works with individuals who have Affective and Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Attention-Deficit Disorder, Depression and Post-traumatic Stress. Dr. O'Hara utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Existential therapeutic approaches to help individuals overcome these treatable conditions. Dr. O'Hara works closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals nationally and internationally helping people access the specific treatment services they require.
ALVARADO PARKWAY INSTITUTE
Dr. O'Hara is Director for Addictive Disease services for Alvarado Parkway Institute, a psychiatric and behavioral health hospital in San Diego, California. Dr. O'Hara works with a multidisciplinary staff of physicians, registered nurses and certified counselors helping individuals recovery from dual-diagnosis substance abuse and mental health problems.
CLINICAL HYPNOSIS & GUIDED IMAGERY
The conscious and unconscious mind is a powerful force with the capacity to change, learn and re-learn many self preserving cognitions and behaviors that help people evolve and live healthy more meaningful lives.
Dr. O'Hara is certified in clinical hypnosis and works with individuals to overcome nicotine addiction, weight reduction, and to achieve stress reduction and relaxation. Dr. O'Hara assists individuals recovering from and in remission from significant health problems including heart disease, cancer and AIDS using hypnosis and guided imagery in the process of physical body healing, stress reduction and pursuing mind/body health.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROFESSIONAL
Dr. O'Hara is a nationally certified (SAP) Substance Abuse Professional through the United States Department of Transportation. Dr. O'Hara performs assessments and evaluations for treatment referrals and return-to-duty on individuals who have tested positive for alcohol or drugs while employed in performing safety sensitive jobs. |
